Mylan Specialty L.P. Joins Forces with Adrian Peterson and Jo Frost to Launch Anaphylaxis Preparedness Campaign

The folks at Mylan Specialty L.P. were kind enough to send me the below information about their 25th anniversary of the FDA’s approval of the EpiPen® (epinephrine) Auto-Injector.

There are four really great things about this campaign:

  1. It raises public awareness.
  2. YOU can participate.
  3. Mylan Specialty will donate money to leading allergy non-profit groups.
  4. Participants can choose to receive an exclusive copy of the EpiPen® Show and Tell magazine.

What do pro football player and 2012 most valuable player (MVP), Adrian Peterson and professional family expert Jo Frost have in common? They are both at risk for a life-threatening allergic reaction (anaphylaxis). Despite the increasing prevalence of food allergies, the most common cause of anaphylaxis, many people who are at risk are not ready to appropriately respond when it happens.

That’s why Mylan Specialty L.P. is teaming up with these two seemingly different personalities to support one united goal – further improve preparedness for anaphylaxis – through the campaign in recognition of the 25th anniversary of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) approval of the EpiPen® (epinephrine) Auto-Injector.

Together, Adrian and Jo are sharing how potentially life-threatening (severe) allergies and EpiPenAuto-Injector are part of their life experience and asking America to do the same.

How to Participate: People can visit to Show Us Your EpiPensTM by uploading a photo of themselves with their EpiPen Auto-Injectors.

  • For every photo submission, Mylan Specialty will donate $25 to leading allergy non-profit groups up to a total of $25,000. In addition, approved submissions will be featured in an online mosaic and people can choose to receive an exclusive copy of the EpiPen® Show and Tell magazine, featuring original photos, personal tips and more from Adrian and Jo (participation requires a valid prescription).
  • Sharing their photo will help spread the word about what it takes to be better prepared for anaphylaxis. While on the website, read about how Adrian and Jo live with severe allergies and watch videos of them dispelling misperceptions facing those living with severe allergies.
